Job Description

SomCom (www.somcom.com) are a small, friendly team of web developers based in the lovely west Oxfordshire town of Chipping Norton. We specialise in the hard stuff that most web agencies can’t do: data migration and conversion, complex domain modelling.

We’re looking for a developer who can build and maintain websites for our clients, as well as come up with imaginative ideas for new apps and services. You’ll have the opportunity to implement new products and will need the motivation and skills to make them happen. We need someone with an established track record of successful projects who can hit the ground running.

You’ll need to:

• Be comfortable with modern web development;


• Have a good knowledge of Python


• Have a good knowledge of developing within a web framework. Such as; Django, Ruby on Rails (RoR) or Flask.


• Excellent knowledge of HTML


• Excellent knowledge of Javascript


• Excellent Knowledge of CSS


• Understand relational databases


• Have used version control


• Get things done


• Be well organised with good attention to detail


• Be good at communicating


• Be able to work independently


• Collaborate with colleagues and clients

Bonus points for:

• Perl


• Git/SVN


• Basic Linux sysadmin


• Unit testing


• AWS


• Google App Engine

Salary  GBP 20,000 – 30,000 Annual Salary
